Social Listening: New Balance

  For this assignment, I chose New Balance which is a popular athletic footwear and apparel manufacturer. New Balance known by most people as "Dad" shoes, but they are more recently known for they're running, baseball, lifestyle,  and many other sports apparel/shoe. This brand interest me the most because I have been wearing their baseball cleats for almost three years now. The company's  value proposition is to provide athletes across the nation with the best performing shoe regardless of their sport.  Francisco Lindor came out with his own New Balance baseball cleat on MLB's opening day on April 1st. New Balance came out by posting a promotion video on their Instagram highlighting the flashy shoes in the electric city of Cleveland, Ohio and a small clip of a Indians game. Budweiser social push helps fans scream profanities atop a mountain

  I chose to write about Budweiser’s unique strategy to advertise their beer in Utah. At first glance, I didn’t think much of this article, but as I read more and more, I was impressed with the ways in which Budweiser was carrying out this advertisement.  This past month, Budweiser released its first ever state themed bottle which was rewarded to Utah. This was in response to last years campaign where Budweiser promised Utah they would get a custom bottle if they reached 84,499 retweets with #Bud4Utah on the brand's social media platforms. The brand has poked fun at the reputation of Utah residents cursing.  The bottle has various titles like “holy shizz,” “frick yeah,” “The Beer Utah Swears by.” The brands most recent advertising strategy is by rewarding a customer a two night stay at a skiing resort, helicopter ride, and a cash prize if they follow Budweisers social media handle and comment #BudUtahSwearsBy by April 16.  Hello everyone, My name is Jake and I am currently a freshman at LBCC.  I am getting my AAOT with a business emphasis. In the future, I like the idea of going into real estate whether that be residential or commercial, I haven't decided yet. While taking this marketing class I hope to learn strategies that will persuade the person I am talking to commit to a concept or product I am in charge of. I feel like this class will be able to teach me the small little cues, phrases, or how to present something to a listener that will be extremely helpful in the future.  Something that I am passionate about outside of college is baseball, surfing, and fishing.
